I think my coaching as an editor was effective. Travis found a story in the NY Times about how the medical insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield wasn't covering certain medications anymore. We localized the to NH medical insurance coverage and composed a reporter's plan for the story. Travis would find out why insurance companies are cutting back and who it was affecting, and if it is just Blue Cross Blue Shield, or all insurance companies. Also, how does this can the way doctors prescribe drugs. Which drugs are they no longer covering?
Hard news stories involving crime are always compelling. Health, I think also is attractive to a vast amount of people because they can relate to and benefit from this information. Technology and Business are also directly consumers at an increasing speed.
